Once the six project partners of the research team had come together at BMBF’s Culture Challenge Workshop in 2019 and had received start-up funding for an exploratory phase amounting to 200,000 Euro, the implementation phase of project „MultiKulti: Cultivation of previously uncultured microorganisms from different aquatic habitats” started on 1st of July 2021. The project is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (Bundesministerium für Bildung und Forschung, BMBF) with a total of 2.5 million Euro.
